Ice Fishing Report, March 12, 2019

Posted by Swanson's Bait & Tackle on 12th Mar 2019

It's a sloppy mess out there right now! We finally have been getting some above freezing temps and the snow is melting down, adding to the slush/water problem, but that's what we need to get back on track for some late ice fishing! They're forecasting rain this week with warm temperatures hanging around so we should see the snow really settle down. We're heading in the right direction at least!

In regards to fishing, there have been very few people heading out, but you can get out in some places. A few reports of jumbo perch on Leech Lake, and a handful of guys chasing panfish on the small local lakes. Overall, it will be pretty sloppy this week, but whether it all melts and drains, or it all refreezes rock hard we should be in better shape soon!
