Ice Fishing Report - 3/24/2023

We're ready for the snow faucet to shut off up here! We have been getting unfortunate snowfalls that are putting the late ice season on hold for many anglers around the area. Slush in combination with the deeper snow has made for some difficult travel on the lakes. We're hopeful that the forecasted sunshine and decent temps will settle the snow down to make it a little easier, but it will definitely be sloppy and you'll need some good rubber boots!
Despite the unwanted winter weather, the increased snow/water on the ice could really help with the late ice bite even if it is a short one. Typically that waterflow threw the ice can help heat up the bites and move fish in tight. We're hoping the perch, crappie, and bluegills will fire up as the melt gets going. As always though, the late ice conditions can vary day to day - be extra careful when venturing out there!
