Weekly Fishing Report - Feb 22nd
|
||
We finally have some snow! Well, we didn't get a whole lot, but we did get a few inches. We haven't heard how the recent system that went through has affected the fishing, but the fishing has been excellent. Despite the Eelpout activity last weekend, there was good fishing on Leech over the last week. Walleye continue to bite up there, even in Walker Bay with the Pout traffic! It's been tough on the walleye on the local lakes, Woman is one of the brighter spots in the area. The perch continue to hit great on Leech. Agency Bay and the main lake are hot, and there are no shortages of perch in Walker or Kabakona Bay either. There are some slow times to work through on the bites, but overall the fishing has been excellent. If they are slow one day, they will probably be crazy the next. If you're hitting smaller perch, stay mobile and move around - that's the key to stumbling into the Jumbos! The crappie and sunfish have been picking up pretty good in the area. It has been a day to day bite which seems pretty related to the weather, but if you keep on them you'll find some good action. Mule has been good along with Birch, and there are a few smaller lakes down by Backus that have been producing as well. We got a shipment of BIG waxies in here at Swanson's, and the fisherman have been reporting that the panfish have been pounding them. Good Luck! |
