Fishing Report

Fishing Report - December 7, 2017

We've finally had a few very cold days/nights and most of the lakes are now froze over. Some of the larger water is still holding open with the heavy winds we've had, but everything that iced up last week should be making ice fast! We've heard anywhere from 1 to 10 inches out there from lake to lake, and even quite a bit of variation within some lakes. Be very careful out there as it is still early ice, but you should be able to start sneaking out onto many lakes by foot. They've already been fishing panfish on Birch Lake, Brockway, Moccasin, and some places on Portage. Most of the deeper water has been hard to get out on because of the slow developing ice so we haven't had many walleye reports. Some people have been up on the main lake on Leech trying with some success. It should be a good weekend for ice fishing!
