Ice Fishing Report, November 26, 2018

Posted by

There were many more anglers out over this last weekend, though the ice conditions were still very hit and miss. We heard ranges from no ice, to half an inch, to 8 inches depending on lakes and where on lakes. Ice thicknesses vary on some lakes from skim ice to 8 inches so use extreme caution when venturing out!! Overall temps were not very low over the weekend so we didn't make a ton of ice, but over night we had some single digit lows. The forecast shows that the next couple of days should be making ice as well.

For those that were able to find safe ice, fishing has been pretty good. Most anglers have been chasing panfish on the smaller area lakes, but a few walleye have been coming through the ice as well. Some decent evening crappie bites were reported on some smaller lakes.

There was some walk out traffic on Leech from the reports, and some of the bays have pretty decent ice on them. Mostly anglers were targeting panfish in the smaller bays. On the pockets of good ice on the bigger water there were some walleye caught. Shiners seem to be the bait of choice with the rainbows working well on tip-ups.

We're hoping to make some ice this week so next weekend has some more consistent conditions to get out!
