Fishing Report, March 12th 2018

Posted by

The forecast is looking good this week and we should melt some snow! Right now getting around on the ice is pretty inconsistent. Some areas are very easy with trucks and ATV's but some areas are tough with slushy and/or deeper snow. We could use some good sunshine to make water and get it flowing down.

Fishing has been good across the area lakes for panfish. Birch, Webb, Pleasant, Mule, and many smaller lakes have been hitting decent. The fish still haven't moved too shallow, but they're getting a little more aggressive. 15-20' is where most action is coming right now.

Tullibee are biting fairly well in the early morning and afternoon on Leech. It should just get better and better as the snow melts on the ice. Get out in that deep 40' water and watch for fish halfway up the column. Waxies with smaller/heavy jigs is the way to go and make them chase it - Tullies love chasing jigs up and down the water column. This next weekend should be in much better shape with the warm temps this week. It will likely get sloppy, getting around should be much easier.
